Most full car wraps in the US cost about $3,000 to $4,500 for a sedan and $2,500 to $3,500 for a compact car, according to two price guides updated in October 2026. SUVs, trucks, vans and chrome film cost more. Use the calculator below the photo tool to add up your car, finish and extras, and use the tool to see the colour on your own car before you ask for quotes.
Installed, premium cast film in gloss or satin. Ranges from thepricer.org (Oct 6, 2026) and tunedrides.com (Oct 13, 2026).
About $2,500 to $3,500.
About $3,000 to $4,500. The two guides agree on this range.
About $3,500 to $6,500. Sources differ more here, so the range is wide.
About $3,500 to $5,500.
About $4,500 to $7,500.
About $5,500 to $12,000 or more, because of complex bodywork and higher shop rates.
Gloss and satin are the baseline. The rest add to a full wrap (tunedrides.com, Oct 13, 2026).
About $200 to $400 more.
Carbon fibre or brushed metal looks: about $300 to $600 more.
Flip and iridescent films: about $600 to $1,200 more.
The most expensive and the most variable: about $1,000 to $3,000 more, and some shops quote $4,000 to $8,000 for a full chrome sedan.
Partial jobs are priced by panel. A partial wrap is often not much cheaper than you expect, because setup and prep stay the same.
About $250 to $600 each.
About $500 to $900.
About $100 to $250.
Blacking out the window trim and badges area: about $300 to $800.
The same colour can be quoted very differently. These are the main reasons.
More film and more complex curves, bumpers and vents mean more hours.
Premium cast films such as 3M 2080, Avery Dennison SW900, KPMF, Oracal 970RA and TeckWrap cost more than cheaper calendered film, and last longer.
Wrapping the door shuts so the old colour does not show when the doors open adds about $300 to $600.
Taking off an old wrap first adds about $500 to $2,000, more if it has baked on.
Budget, mid and premium shops can be thousands of dollars apart for the same car.
Wrap goes over sound factory paint. Chips and peeling clear coat need fixing first.
Makers rate their films by surface. Avery Dennison rates SW900 colour films up to 10 years on vertical surfaces and 2 years on horizontal ones such as the hood and roof (data sheet, revision dated 03/10/26). 3M expects up to 8 years on vertical surfaces for 2080 film. Real life depends on sun, washing and parking.
A good respray usually costs more and takes longer, but lasts longer. A wrap can be changed or removed. Our car wrap vs paint guide puts them side by side.
A picture helps you choose a direction. These checks help you choose the actual film.
Wrap film looks different in sun, shade and under shop lights, and a small swatch looks different from a whole car. Ask the installer to hold a sample on your paint outside.
A pink or a grey from one brand is not the same colour as one with a similar name from another. Always give the installer the brand, the film line and the colour name together.
Cast films such as 3M 2080 and Avery Dennison SW900 are made to stretch over curves. Ask which line the shop uses and how long they expect it to last on your car.
Wrap goes over sound factory paint. Chips, clear coat peeling and old repaints can show through or lift when the film comes off.
Some states and countries ask you to report a colour change to the vehicle registry, and some limit mirror-like reflective finishes. Ask your installer or the local vehicle agency.
Save your before and after picture and take it to two or three local wrap shops. Tell each one the film brand, line and colour you want, for example "3M 2080 Satin Black" or "Avery Dennison SW900 Gloss Dark Green".
Ask each shop to show you a sample of the colour you picked on your car, whether door jambs are included, and what the warranty covers. A picture of your own car makes it easy for them to see what you mean.
The tool draws an approximation of each colour and finish from a description. It is not the film maker's swatch, and screens show colour differently.
It is a preview, not a quote. It does not measure the car, check the paint or give prices.
Very shiny finishes such as chrome are hard to show: the reflections in the picture are invented and will look different on your street.
AI Two is not affiliated with 3M, Avery Dennison, ORAFOL (Oracal), TeckWrap, KPMF or any car maker. Brand and colour names belong to their owners and are used only to describe colours.

A hood or roof is about $250 to $600, both together about $500 to $900, and mirror caps about $100 to $250.
Chrome film costs more and is harder to install without marks, so most shops charge $1,000 to $3,000 more than a gloss wrap, sometimes much more.
No. It adds published shop ranges to give you an idea. A shop has to see your car to quote.
Makers rate premium films up to about 8 to 10 years on vertical surfaces and much less on the hood and roof. Care and sun matter a lot.
